The short version

• Whatever you type into a tool on this site is worked out inside your own browser. It is not uploaded, not stored, and not seen by us.
• There is no account, no sign-up and no login, so we hold no profile about you.
• We do not run web analytics and we do not set advertising or tracking cookies of our own.
• Third-party advertising is planned for the future. When it is added, this policy will be updated before any advertising code goes live.

What you type stays on your device

Every tool on this site is a single page that runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript that is served to you with the page. When you enter a weight, an age, a number from a food label, or anything else, that value is used by the script running on your own machine to produce the result on your screen.

Those values are not sent to a server, not written to a database, and not logged. There is no server-side calculation to send them to — the site has no application back end and no database.

The same applies to anything you do with the result: copying it, printing it, or downloading a table from the page all happen locally on your device.

What we do not collect

• No name, email address, phone number or postal address — we never ask for them.
• No account, password or login of any kind — the site has no accounts.
• No tool inputs, and no history of what you calculated.
• No advertising identifiers and no cross-site tracking of our own.
• No analytics product. We do not run Google Analytics or any equivalent.

Cookies

This site does not set cookies for advertising, analytics or tracking, because it runs no advertising and no analytics. The provider that serves the site to you may set a short-lived security cookie to help tell real visitors apart from automated traffic; that cookie is set by the provider, not by us, and is not used to build a profile of you.

If third-party advertising is added later, those providers may set their own cookies. That is covered in the next section.

Third-party advertising — planned, not yet live

There is no advertising on this site today. We do intend to add third-party advertising in future to cover the cost of running it, and we are being explicit about that here rather than leaving you to discover it.

When advertising is added, the ad providers may set their own cookies or similar identifiers in order to serve and measure ads, and some may use your approximate location or the content of the page to choose which ad to show. That is outside our control and governed by those providers' own policies.

Our commitment is about timing and notice, and it is a real one: this page will be updated to name the providers and describe what they do before any advertising code is placed on the site. If you are reading this and there is no advertising section naming specific providers, then no advertising is running.

Hosting

The site is served through a content delivery network, which processes each request in order to deliver the page to you and to protect the site from abuse. That processing is standard for any website and covers technical request data such as the requested address and the request time.

Children

The tools on this site are general-purpose and are not directed at children. Since we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect it from children.

Your rights

Data protection rules generally give you the right to access, correct or delete personal information held about you. We hold none about you, so there is nothing for us to retrieve, amend or erase. If you believe otherwise, contact us and we will look into it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes — in particular the introduction of advertising or any new data collection — will be described here rather than made quietly.
